Our blue Remi Kawaii Päc backpack was used on the film, Little Men. Even though our backpack is visible for just a few seconds during the beginning of the film, we were delighted that it made it on the film and not on the cutting room floor! Not to mention, it was pretty neat to see the name, Milkdot appear in the end credits.
Here is a brief synopsis of the movie:
When 13-year-old Jake’s (Theo Taplitz) grandfather dies, he and his parents (Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Ehle) move from Manhattan into his grandfather's Brooklyn home. Jake, who is the introverted artist, befriends Tony (Michael Barbieri) who is spunky, charismatic and wants to become an actor.
Though opposites, they find true friendship but their friendship faces a struggle when Jake's parents decide they need to raise the rent on Tony's single mom, Leonor (Paulina Garcia) who owns the modest dress shop downstairs. As tensions mount between the adults, the boys take an oath of silence against their parents.
Directed by Ira Sachs, Little Men is the story of life, and the innocence of Jake and Tony's friendship is heartwarming just as the uncomfortable tension and awkwardness of the parents is clearly felt.
