Why do we say tested Lead-Safe rather than Lead-Free?
Lead occurs naturally in trace amounts throughout the environment. Because of this fact, it is not always possible to get a lead result of 0ppm (parts per million).
At Milkdot, we are very concerned about the safety of our products for children and the environment which is why we send every material, from the fabric to the zipper pulls to our logo, all to a 3rd-party lab for lead-substrate tests.
A material's surface may test lead-free, however, as a material tends to wear down after constant use, we do not just test the surface of our materials but we test the breakdown of the material.
All of the materials on our lunch totes and backpacks which can have direct contact with food have been tested lead-free with a lead-substrate test by a third-party certified lab.
Returns and exchanges
Your Milkdot product on arrival should be free from defects in materials and workmanship. All defective items must be returned for inspection and will be replaced at our discretion.
Damages caused by normal wear (i.e., zipper wear) and the natural breakdown of materials, accidents, improper care or use do not qualify for returns or exchanges.
If you are not 100% satisfied with your product purchase from this Site, you may return the product for a refund or exchange under the conditions as follows:
Milkdot must be contacted within 10 days after you have received the product explaining the reason for the return or exchange. The goods must be returned to Milkdot in new and unused condition with their original tags and packaging. Please include a copy of your order receipt and order number. All shipping and handling charges are non-refundable. Please ensure that your package has a tracking number and that shipping charges are prepaid.
Returns for orders over $200 are subject to a restocking fee that will not exceed 5% of the original total order cost.
What if I was shipped the wrong product?
If you were shipped the wrong product, Milkdot must be contacted immediately after you discover the error. The goods must be returned to Milkdot in new and unused condtion with their original tags and packaging. Please include a copy of your order receipt and order number. Milkdot will arrange for the shipping of the product back to our location. After inspection and confirmation that the product qualifies for replacement, Milkdot will ship the correct product, at no additional cost.
What if my product arrived damaged?
If you discover shipping damage and damage to the product, you must contact Milkdot immediately. Milkdot will arrange for the shipping of the product back to our location. After inspection and confirmation that the product qualifies for replacement, Milkdot will ship a replacement product, at no additional cost.
Can I contact Milkdot if I purchased one of your products from another retailer?
Milkdot will only return/exchange items purchased through Milkdot.com. Products purchased through a Milkdot retailer must be returned/exchanged through that specific retailer under their own return/exchange policy.

How do I clean Milkdot products?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Wipe dry and allow to air dry. Do not machine wash or dry.
